SURG-40. SINGLE-STAGE RECONSTRUCTION FOLLOWING ONCOLOGIC RESECTION OF BRAIN TUMORS WITH SKULL INVASION

نویسندگان

چکیده

Abstract BACKGROUND: Craniectomies requiring skull reconstruction are indicated following oncological resection of masses involving the underlying brain and/or skull. Immediate cranioplasties have previously been performed using suboptimal hand-bending or molding techniques ‘‘off – shelf’’ products. Today with computer aided design, customized craniofacial implants become widely available for personalized resected bone and soft tissue. We present largest series to date single stage alloplastic biomaterials in consecutive patient oversized implants. In total, 56 patients underwent neoplasms subsequent cranioplasty implants. The most common were meningiomas (39%). complications seen among dehiscence (7%), extrusion implant (3.5%). There was no significant difference incidence postoperative between who had chemotherapy/radiotherapy versus those that did not (22.2% 13.1%, P 0.39). One-year follow-up revealed acceptable cranial contour symmetry all cases.

Perineal Flap Reconstruction after Oncologic Resection

METHODS Patients who underwent abdominoperineal resections for anorectal or vulvovaginal cancer were retrospectively analyzed. We include all the patients who could not be repaired by direct closure due to excessive skin tension. We assessed the different flaps used, the surgical complications rate, wound healing, or the progression to chronic wounds. RESULTS We identified 20 patients who under...

Outcomes of partial vaginal reconstruction with pedicled flaps following oncologic resection.

BACKGROUND Immediate flap reconstruction for partial vaginal resection is often performed with resection of colorectal, gynecologic, and urologic malignancies. Surgical and functional outcomes have not been well described. The aim of the authors' study was to identify factors associated with improved outcomes in patients undergoing immediate flap reconstruction for partial vaginal resection. ...
